God’s Blessing

Blessings can be associated with protection and happiness. God’s blessings protects us, and helps guide us to the path of happiness and righteousness.

There are 2 forms of blessing, The physical blessing and the spiritual blessing.

There are a lot of physical blessings we ought not pay attention to especially in our lives. Sometimes it is easy to forget just how blessed we really are.

We are all blessed physically, our ability to identify the blessing of God in our lives differs.

There are people out there in need of what you have and probably wasted.

Let us take for instance world statistics in some physical blessing God has bestowed upon us in aspect of our day to day activities.

People are dying of water related disease every day and some don’t even have access to it, but here we are in sound health. If you walk to the tap and get drinking water that won’t make you sick, you are more blessed than 13% of the world’s population. About 900 million people do not have safe drinking water.

Some people don’t even have where they will sleep talk less of having toilet. If you have a toilet in your house, you are more blessed than 38% of the world’s population.

If you own a car, even an old beetles, you are more blessed than approximately 80% of people of driving age throughout the world.

If you have electricity in your home, you are more blessed than 25% of the world’s population. In third world countries. An estimated 79% of people live without access to electricity. But we are privileged to this even if its epileptic.

There is humanitarian crises in some war torn countries, they have no access to food or water, they starve to death, some are enslaved and never knew if they will survive or not (Like the slave trade in Libya). If you had enough to eat today you are more blessed than 13% of the world’s population. Over 925 million people go hungry each day throughout the world.

Let us think over all the above stated, and answer the question “is our basket not full of Gods’s blessing?)

Can we imagine how much a cylinder of oxygen cost, yet we breath freely without paying a dime.

Can we imagine what a sachet of blood cost in the hospital whilst our heart pumps and circulate blood free of charge in our body systems – “is our basket not full of Gods’s blessing?

Remember God is our only source of supplying our needs and He gives to us, but not to be rich or to build up treasure on earth (Luke 12:20). Rather, God gives to us so that we can help others and use it for His glory. God will hold us accountable for what He has been giving us.

With these material blessings comes a spiritual responsibility – But as you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in all earnestness, and in our love for you — see that you excel in this act of grace also. (2 Corinthians 8:7)
